Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Hojtech, in Denmark, covering your use of the Jetlag Away app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them.

If you do not accept them, do not use Jetlag Away.

Jetlag Away is not medical advice

This is the most important clause here, so it comes first.

Jetlag Away produces general guidance about light, sleep, caffeine and naps, calculated from the flight you enter and the sleep pattern you describe. It is a scheduling tool. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose anything, and it is not a substitute for advice from a doctor.

Do not use Jetlag Away instead of medical advice, and talk to a healthcare professional before following any of it if you:

• have a sleep disorder, a circadian rhythm disorder, or any other diagnosed condition affected by sleep
• take medication affected by sleep timing, or that affects sleep
• are pregnant
• have a heart condition, or any condition affected by caffeine
• have an eye condition, or any condition affected by bright light exposure

Never follow a Jetlag Away suggestion while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything else where being drowsy is dangerous. You decide what to do with the plan; you are responsible for that decision.

Your account

You need an account to use Jetlag Away. You agree to give a real email address, to keep your password to yourself, and to be responsible for what happens under your account.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. See Delete your account.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms or the law.

Access, subscriptions and payment

Jetlag Away gives every new account a short free window to try the app, which starts when the account is created and is anchored to that account — reinstalling does not reset it. After it ends, continued access requires a purchase.

Two options are offered, and the current price and period of each are shown in the app before you buy. That is the authoritative price; nothing on this page overrides what the store shows you at the moment of purchase.

• An auto-renewable monthly subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each period, and it keeps renewing until you cancel. Your account is charged through the App Store or Google Play, and renewal is charged within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
• A one-time purchase, granting a fixed period of access. It does not renew and does not need to be cancelled — access simply ends when the period does.

Cancelling

Cancel through the store, not through us. We cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf, because we never hold the billing relationship.

• iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions
• Android: Google Play → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period ends.

Refunds

Refunds are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own policies. Request one through the store you bought from. Deleting your Jetlag Away account does not cancel a subscription and does not produce a refund — cancel first, then delete.

Price changes

If the price changes, the store will tell you and ask you to agree before your subscription renews at the new price, as required by Apple and Google.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source of the app, except where that right cannot be excluded by law
• resell, rent or redistribute access, or share an account so that more than one person uses a single purchase
• attempt to reach data belonging to another account, or interfere with the service
• use Jetlag Away to break any law

What belongs to whom

The app, this website, the Jetlag Away name and mark, and the software that builds the plans remain ours. Using Jetlag Away gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it while these terms are in force, and nothing more.

The trips, plans and check-ins you create are yours. We claim no ownership of them and use them only to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability

Jetlag Away is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be available without interruption or free of errors, and features may change or be removed as the app develops. The plan-generating logic is based on published circadian research, but we do not warrant that following a plan will produce any particular result — how quickly a body clock shifts varies from person to person and from trip to trip.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Danish law. Your rights as a consumer under Danish and EU law are unaffected by anything here.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including missed flights, missed meetings, lost work or lost earnings — arising out of your use of Jetlag Away. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Jetlag Away after that means you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Denmark, and the Danish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.

Apple-specific terms

Where you obtained Jetlag Away from the App Store, the following apply, as Apple requires:

• This agreement is between you and Hojtech only. Apple is not a party to it.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for Jetlag Away.
• If Jetlag Away fails to conform to any warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claim is our responsibility.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim that Jetlag Away infringes intellectual property rights, and any product liability or regulatory claim relating to it.
• You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo, and are not on any US Government prohibited-parties list.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and may enforce it against you.
