Delete your account

Last updated 8 September 2026

You can delete your Jetlag Away account yourself, from inside the app, in under a minute. If you have already removed the app, there is an email route below.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no archive: nothing in the app can bring an account back, and neither can we.

The production database keeps automatic backups for seven days, so that it can be recovered from a failure. For up to seven days after you delete, a copy of your data may therefore still exist inside Google Cloud. Those backups are never opened to look anything up, and they are deleted automatically.

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription lives with Apple or Google and not with us. If you delete your account while a subscription is running, it keeps renewing and you keep being charged.

Cancel first:

A one-time purchase does not renew and needs no cancellation.

In the app

  1. Open Jetlag Away and go to the Account tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Enter your password to confirm. This is what proves it is you, so nothing is deleted if the password is wrong.

The app signs you out on its own once it is done.

If you are using Jetlag Away as a guest — that is, you started the free trial and have not added an email address — there is no password to enter. Your data is deleted and the session ends; the empty anonymous credential is left behind, because there is no way to authenticate a guest in order to remove it.

What is deleted

Everything Jetlag Away stores about you:

One thing worth knowing before you delete on Android. If you bought the 30-day access and it has not run out, deleting your account ends it. That note is the only record of it: Google Play releases a one-time purchase as soon as the app marks it used, which it has to do so the item can be bought again for your next trip. Nothing can restore it afterwards, and you would have to buy it again. On iPhone and iPad this does not apply — the App Store keeps its own record and Restore purchases brings it back.

What is not deleted, and why

By email

If you no longer have the app installed, write to support@jetlaga.com from the email address your account uses, and ask for the account to be deleted.

Sending it from the account’s own address is what lets us confirm it is yours. If you write from a different address we will have to ask you to send it again from the right one, so it is quicker to do it that way the first time.

We will confirm once it is done. Allow up to 30 days, though in practice it is much faster.
